deviant be strange sometimes o_O

    Something has bugged me about deviant's namin system since I first joined. As you all know we have the option of 'watching' people who's art we favor. This is benafitial to both sides as the artists gets more recognition and the watcher gets an easy way to access their work and reseave updates. however all the artist knows is that someone likes their work. while it is nice to do so they don't have to thank the watcher or otherwise acnolage their act. They don't even need to know the watcher's own art style, let alone like it themselves. in short the two are still utter strangers.
    So why then is the list of people your watching call your 'friends' list? As I said before for all deviantart or you knows your only a name on that artist watch list, not some one they would classify as a 'friend'
    I know this ins't always the case of course, most people are rather nice and DO thank their watchers and more. And yes many ether are or become friends, like how I'm friends with people like and (only two examples, don't hate me for not mentioning you others). However I'm fairly sure people like and have no clue who I am, even though I'm fans of there work (I LOVE off-white so much!). There are other cases like where even though she knows about me I think our only real interaction was when I gave her a cake badge for her birthday.
    Long winded though this ramble may be but you have to admit its weird of deviant to call the people you 'watch' your 'friends'. by the way, though it also bugs me, I'm choosing not to complain about the term 'watch' in this post (seriously could they have chosen a Creepier subscriber name!?) that's for another day.

Wow, I really spent to much time today watching turnabout storms, I sound like phoenix wright or something in this rant
but seriously, you guys should check it out. its a my little pony/ phoenix wright cross over, and it's very well done. you only have to be a fan of one to enjoy it, though I think fans of both with get a lot more of the jokes and references (there are even some like 'my body is ready' and other non MLP and AA stuff!). The story is beautifly crafted and the animation is spot on. here's a link to the first episode, make sure to watch it if ou got a few hours to kill (its set up like a fake lets play if a cross over game, that's why its long)
